Summary

As an advocate for better drug policy centered around healing as opposed to punitive actions, I have made an effort to make a change. I started a chapter of Students for Sensible Drug Policy at San Diego State University and since then I have collaborated on various projects. I am continuously engaging in conversations on how to improve drug policy and all the other social issues it interconnects to. Throughout my undergraduate career, I have collaborated with other San Diego chapters to propose a drug decriminalization resolution based on evidence, compassion, and human rights to the board of supervisors. Although we made little progress, the process empowered me to start thinking strategically.
