Activism

General Statement

𖦹 Most revolutions started out with simple observations. After going through life and seeing all the troubling realities our institutions, cultures, and society allow to continue, I started asking why about everything. Why is alcohol legal while cannabis is still federally treated the same as methamphetamine? It seems like we're just going through the motions doing what's been passed down to us, without realizing that we ARE the people. We need to stop complaining about the government and start asking why it sucks and act to reclaim our representation as constituents of the community, by educating ourselves through research and setting plans in motion!

From my perspective, there is an emerging intersection between treatment-centered drug policy reform, integrative health, ecocentrism, cognitive liberty, and psychedelic research.

Treatment-Centered Drug Policy Reform

Too many individuals have had their bright futures stripped away from their palms due to non-violent drug charges, leaving behind a forfeiture of opportunities.

The basis of treatment-centered drug policy is curving the carceral approach to drug use with evidence-based treatment that implements an integrative model of health, acknowledging the multitude of factors contributing to conditions and getting to the root issues, as opposed to solely treating the symptoms.

Integrative Health

Integrative health accounts for a patient's complexity, offering a plethora of options for treating conditions, ranging from various modalities of medicine. Integrative medicine often addresses issues unaddressed in a traditional care setting.

Not only does the integrative framework implement modern forms of treatment, but it also implements alternative methods for healing to tailor treatment to the diverse needs of patients.

Ecocentrism

Modern humans have had an immense impact on the environment and working to improve the environment has many benefits.

Improving the environment empowers citizens through independence through education. Public policy should reform to reflect knowledge of our relationship with ecosystems, for a sustainable future.

Psychedelic Therapy Research

Research suggests there is therapeutic potential for psychedelics to be used as a biological protectant and a psychological buffer that could lead to transformative experiences.

Psychedelic therapy could also bring awareness to aspects previously unaddressed, such as a person's spirituality and their connection to the macrocosm of reality. This could also lead to environmental awareness and self-reflection.
